Title: THE FUNDAMENTAL THEOREM OF LEGENDRIAN SUBMANIFOLDS IN THE HEISENBERG GROUP
Abstract: The geometry of Equilibrium Thermodynamics is well-known (Gibbs, Maxwell (1880s), Hermann (1960s), Arnold (1989), Mrugala (1970s)…). In thermodynamics the major role is played by the maximum dimensional integral submanifolds of the contact distribution, by the so-called Legendrian submanifolds (Legendre submanifolds). In this talk, we will introduce the uniqueness and existence questions for Legendrian submanifolds in the Heisenberg group via Cartans method of moving frames and the theory of Lie groups.
