We are now in the era of Artificial Intelligence. Basic mathematics has more widespread applications. Certain concepts from classical mathematics become much more prominent.   I will talk about some of the stories:

  1. Matrix theory, i.e. Linear Algebra., particularly tensors (multilinear algebra) are crucial to AI.
  2. Why Convolution (in Algebra) is a key operation in AI.
  3. How the Chain Rule of Calculus developed into a machine learning tool.
