We are now in the era of Artificial Intelligence. Basic mathematics has more widespread applications. Certain concepts from classical mathematics become much more prominent.\u00a0\u00a0 I will talk about some of the stories:<\/p>

  1. Matrix theory, i.e. Linear Algebra., particularly tensors (multilinear algebra) are crucial to AI.<\/li>
  2. Why Convolution (in Algebra) is a key operation in AI.<\/li>
  3. How the Chain Rule of Calculus developed into a machine learning tool.<\/li><\/ol>
