The topic of this lecture is \u201cMathematical Teaching Research on Making a Mountain out of a Molehill.\u201d The phrase \u201cmaking a mountain out of a molehill\u201d usually means treating trivial matters as if they were major ones\u2014an exaggerated or negative expression. However, in the context of mathematics teaching research, it takes on a positive meaning: handling small details with great care and depth.<\/span><\/p>

This lecture will use competency-directed conjecturing teaching research as an example to illustrate how, over the decades, I have invested mathematics classroom research through this spirit of \u201cmaking a mountain out of a molehill.\u201d Competency-directed mathematics teaching aims to enhance students\u2019 competencies. Given the short 50-minute timeframe of this lecture, the focus will be limited to mathematical creativity as one of the key competencies.<\/span><\/p>

I will share how Taiwan\u2019s research on this kind of \u201cmaking a mountain out of a molehill\u201d approach in mathematics teaching has been disseminated to two universities in California, USA. This includes the design and its implementation of the tasks in regular Taiwanese mathematics classrooms, the measurement of creativity, and the analysis of students\u2019 mathematical creativity performing in classroom settings.<\/span><\/p>

\u6b64\u6b21\u6f14\u8b1b\u4e3b\u984c\u8a02\u70ba\u300c\u5c0f\u984c\u5927\u4f5c\u7684\u6578\u5b78\u6559\u5b78\u7814\u7a76\u300d\u5c0f\u984c\u5927\u4f5c\u91cb\u7fa9\u70ba\u5c07\u5c0f\u4e8b\u7576\u6210\u5927\u4e8b\u4f86\u8655\u7406\u662f\u6545\u610f\u8a87\u5f35\u6e32\u67d3\u88ab\u8996\u70ba\u8ca0\u9762\u7684\u7528\u8a9e\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u5728\u6578\u5b78\u6559\u5b78\u7814\u7a76\u8981\u5c0f\u984c\u5927\u4f5c\u662f\u8981\u7d30\u7dfb\u8655\u7406\uff0c\u8996\u70ba\u6b63\u9762\u7684\u7528\u8a9e\u3002\u6b64\u6b21\u6f14\u8b1b\u5c07\u4ee5\u7d20\u990a\u5c0e\u5411\u7684\u6578\u5b78\u81c6\u6e2c\u6559\u5b78\u7814\u7a76\u70ba\u6848\u4f8b\u4f86\u8aaa\u660e\u6211\u6578\u5341\u5e74\u4f86\u7684\u6578\u5b78\u6559\u5b78\u8ab2\u5802\u5982\u4f55\u4ee5\u5c0f\u984c\u5927\u4f5c\u4f86\u9032\u884c\u7814\u7a76\uff0c\u7d20\u990a\u5c0e\u5411\u7684\u6578\u5b78\u6559\u5b78\u610f\u65e8\u4ee5\u57f9\u990a\u5b78\u751f\u7684\u7d20\u990a\u70ba\u76ee\u6a19\u7684\u6578\u5b78\u81c6\u6e2c\u6559\u5b78\u77ed\u77ed\u768450\u5206\u9418\u6f14\u8b1b\u8ad6\u53ca\u7684\u7d20\u990a\u50c5\u80fd\u9650\u7e2e\u5728\u6578\u5b78\u5275\u9020\u529b\u3002\u6211\u5c07\u5206\u4eab\u5982\u4f55\u5c07\u570b\u5167\u7684\u5c0f\u984c\u5927\u4f5c\u7684\u6578\u5b78\u6559\u5b78\u7814\u7a76\u63a8\u5ee3\u50b3\u64ad\u5230\u7f8e\u570b\u52a0\u5dde\u5169\u6240\u5927\u5b78\u6709\u95dc\u53f0\u7063\u7684\u5e38\u898f\u6578\u5b78\u8ab2\u5802\u4e2d\u7684\u81c6\u6e2c\u4efb\u52d9\u8a2d\u8a08\u5230\u6559\u5b78\u5be6\u8e10\u3001\u8207\u5275\u9020\u529b\u8a55\u91cf\u5de5\u5177\u767c\u5c55\u3001\u8ab2\u5802\u5b78\u751f\u6578\u5b78\u5275\u9020\u529b\u7684\u8cc7\u6599\u5206\u6790\u8207\u8868\u73fe\u3002<\/strong><\/span><\/p>
