[NTNU Number Theory Seminar] Class number relations revisited

Speaker: Jing Yu (National Taiwan University)

Title : Class number relations revisited

Abstract: The classical story of class number relations goes back to Kronecker and Hurwitz. I was first fascinated by this phenomenon in my graduate student days. In 1990’s. together with several young mathematicians, we initiated a study of the class number relations over function fields in positive characteristic. This is still a wide open field today, as interplays of higher dimensional geometry and automorphic forms continue shedding lights.
