On Chevalley-Weil theorem

We will discuss some applications of the Chevalley-Weil theorem, such as the weak Mordell-Weil theorem and Darmon-Granville’s result on the generalized Fermat equation. Most of the talk is based on the article “Around the Chevalley-Weil Theorem” by Corvaja, Turchet and Zannier published in Enseign. Math. (2) 68 (2002)
