This talk will explore how AI can be a transformative force for innovation and personalized learning in mathematics education. The first part of the talk examines the integration of AI in mathematics education, beginning with a review of how generative AI and learning analytics are reshaping both teaching and learning. Next, we’ll introduce two key initiatives from Taiwan: the Taiwan Adaptive Learning Platform (TALP) and its AI learning companion, TALPer. We will highlight their pedagogical designs and share empirical outcomes related to self-regulated learning and overall math proficiency. Finally, the talk will cover how traced data and dialogue data can be utilized to gain deeper insights into students’ math learning behaviors.
